Club Runs
The Acme Wheelers Cycling Club has a regular Sunday morning ride that leaves the Welcome Inn, Tonypandy at 9.30am. Please contact us for more details. Adult non-members are welcome to come with us for a trial run without any obligation. Younger riders please contact us for advice.
The clubrun is a social ride for members of all ages above juvenile who can maintain a steady pace for 40 miles or more and usually includes a cafe stop.
Members who are training for races often form a separate group for a faster run with no cafe stop and riders should not join this group and expect others to wait for them. It is recommended that newcomers participate in the general clubrun until their level of fitness is high enough to join a faster group
Club Trips
Cycling Exhibitions
Club members regularly organise visits to bike shows, the two most popular being “The Bike Show” at the NEC, normally in September and the Rouleur Classic Cycle show held in London in November. The Gallery carries numerous photos with Acme members meeting cycling personalities at these shows.
International Cycle Races
The Gallery has many files containing photos of members travelling in the UK and abroad to see major cycle races such as the Tour de France, World Championships and Tour of Britain. These are always popular visits which have to be planned some time in advance to ensure suitable accommodation is obtained. Again members have met cycling personalities past and present and these can be viewed in the Gallery files.
